Do I have to register the client, the ibuttons and the readers on the computer before starting them?

No it's not necessary

You must take into account that each ibutton has a unique number that is recorded on the back of each one. This number is the one that you will record giving you the place where you have fitted it.

You will need that number when it comes to registering the ibutton on the system, it's the only number that the application will need along with the type of ibutton and the description of it.
