In this section the Vigilant's support team will solve any query you may have.


When using the program, I get the message "A component named [something] already exists" and I can't see my data.

This happens sometimes after updating programs based on Paradox database. This is a minor problem, and has an easy solution. Just follow these steps:

  • Make a backup of your data using the integrated tool.
  • Close the Vigilant applications on all computers.
  • From the Windows menu, navigate to "Vigilant" - "Time & Attendance" - "Data Repair"
  • With the default options, click on "Repair" and wait the process to complete.

Important:

  • Once started the repair process, it can't be interrupted, and no Vigilant program must be opened. Doing so can seriously damage your data.
  • Depending on the stored information ammount and the hardware capacity of the computer, this process may take several minutes. Be patient.
  • When possible, run the repair process from the machine that physically stores the database files. Local access is much faster than through the network.
